About Me
I am a psychologist with over 10 years of experience supporting children, teenagers, and families. Having worked in KK Women's and Children's Hospital (KKH) and the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), I help families better understand developmental, behavioural, emotional, and learning-related concerns.
I specialise in working with new parents, parents who are concerned about their child's behaviour, school performance or screen use, as well as families adjusting to migration or relocation and international students. I provide online psychological assessments and therapy to help families gain a clearer understanding of their child's needs and challenges. By identifying the underlying reasons behind a child's difficulties, I help parents make informed decisions and develop practical strategies that work in everyday life.
Online sessions allow families to access support from the comfort of home. Evening and after-hours appointments are available at no additional cost, making it easier to fit support around work, school, and family commitments.
Beyond clinical practice, I have contributed to research on gaming, mental health, student wellbeing, and academic performance. I have also led the implementation of a national peer support programme and presented my work at international conferences. As a mother of two and a former avid gamer, I understand many of the challenges families face today. My goal is to provide practical, evidence-based support that helps children and families thrive.

What is the professional background and clinical experience of this therapist?
Hi, my name is Nikole. I'm a psychologist and have around a decade of experience working with family, parents, and children in various settings such as school, community, and in hospitals. My clinical approach, I like to work collaboratively with families, the parents that I see. I like to work with them to co-design practical strategies, and I think one of the things that I enjoy very much working with families and parents is to co-design practical strategies that you can use in everyday life, that you don't have to wonder how to implement and is always about something that you can apply practically in something that fits your lifestyle.
What is the clinical philosophy and therapeutic approach of this therapist?
I'm here to support your family and to answer any questions that you have regarding your child and your concerns. And my approach is very much about working together with you to provide the kind of support that you will need. I've heard many feedback from parents that, you know, sometimes the strategies that were given to them by different people, for example, the schools or different other, that is not very practical to implement. So I just want to reassure you during our session that I'll work together with you to make sure that the strategy that we are discussing and the interventions that we are going to implement will be something that you can implement in your daily lives, something that will be very practical and down to earth that you can use and personalise.

So I'm really here to support you through your journey in supporting your children, and I hope that we can work together so that we can support you in the way that you envision. My passion is in working with families, parents, and children simply because I am a mother of two. And I also enjoy working with migrant families also because I've moved around to different countries across my life and my children has moved around together with me. So I have a lot of lived experience working with families who have moved around to different countries across the world. Previously I was also [an] international student when I was much younger, so I also enjoy working with international students and also their families to address issues that international students might face in terms of transiting between different countries.

Why I joined Dr OM & Associates? Very simple reason: because I align with their philosophy. Dr Oberdan shared with me about his story about his tomato plant and how a tomato plant flourish. He strongly believes that, you know, every person have the answer deep inside them and it's really about how they find the answers to thrive in their environment. And I really align with that philosophy. I believe that all my clients, all the parents that I see, all the families that I see, they already have that answer inside them. They know their children the best. They have been with their children for the longest time in their life and they have the answers within them. So my job is really to support them and to walk with them through this journey so that they can find the answers to best support their children.
What are the tips this therapist has for their followers?
My first tip for all parents: if you have a child that is below two years old, I would like to encourage you to avoid showing any type of computer, TV, or screens to your children. That is to reduce the exposure for excessive screen use. A lot of parents that I see with slightly older children, they come to me because they struggle with limiting their children's screen time. Now, if you struggle when they're older, it is a lot harder to work with your children to stop them or to limit their screen use. So the best way to go about it, especially if you are a new parent, is to limit the screen use of your child by not exposing them to screen time at all.
