Have you ever noticed that even when you are on holiday, your mind is still "at the office," strategising your next three moves?
For many high-achievers, we struggle to rest because our identity is built on a foundation of constant achievement. We have been conditioned to believe that being active is the only way to be valuable.
Consequently, when we stop moving, our system doesn't feel relief. It feels an urgent sense of unease.
In this week's video, we explore why high-functioning people find rest so challenging and how to tell the difference between just being "inactive" and actually experiencing restoration.
Watch here.
Here’s your reflection for this week:
When you think of the last time you were inactive, what was the very first feeling that emerged?
Did you feel safe, or did you feel the need to start "doing" again?
I am currently exploring the deeper implications of being a "high-functioning" individual through the lens of my Integrative Essence Therapy framework.
My goal is to help people move away from a state of chronic adaptation constantly reacting to external demands toward a state of true internal alignment.
